The Propel 15’ Trampoline with enclosure is sort of like a mixed bag of nuts. Some people love it while others haven’t had quite a great experience with the trampoline. While sporting a 3 star rating on Amazon, this product has received many reviews that make it hard to decide if the product is flawed or if the buyer is not taking the necessary precautions necessary to maintain the quality of the trampoline. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten around to testing out this trampoline myself, so, I will compile a few of the customer reviews I’ve read and allow you to be the deciding factor of the product. However, I would highly suggest reading a few reviews yourself to ensure this product is the right fit for you and that it will properly suit your needs as well as meet your safety requirements as a consumer.
The better reviews of the Propel trampoline stated that it was very easy to assemble, so, that’s a plus. They also mentioned how sturdy it is and what great bounce you have while jumping. Some customers brought up how they’ve had this trampoline for more than 2 years and have put it through a little abuse and still enjoy an excellent experience with the product.
One customer left a review that describes the trampoline as “cleverly put together” and went on to say that “there’s more pros than cons.” He also stated that the pad and security net utilize the springs to secure them really well. Then, he mentioned how the 96 springs are just as sturdy as the ones on his old, more expensive trampoline.
The cons of the product that he brought up were more based on the instructions which annoyed him than the actual Propel Trampoline itself. However, he admits that had he not made assumptions while assembling the product he probably would not have had an issue in the first place. Another thing he pointed out was that a couple of the poles were on the wrong side causing him to drill 3 1/8” holes into the tubing to screw into, though he states it really wasn’t a big deal. Overall, he had positive feelings about the trampoline and stated that it deserved more credit than what it receives.
The bad reviews pertaining to the Propel Trampoline are all based on safety concerns and in most instances the customer actually contacted Propel to inform them of how they felt. Each situation was different; one had concerns about the quality of the pad, another about the security net and somebody else wasn’t sure how they felt about the mat. Some of the situations I read about could have been avoided with proper care to the product while others were a little harder to determine the exact reason for the malfunction causing the concern.
One Propel Trampoline reviews stated that it was left assembled and in the elements for a full year, including winter, and that their child went through the security net. As unfortunate as this situation was, it could have easily been avoided by taking down the trampoline during the winter months or when it wasn’t going to be used for an extended period of time.
The material used to make the security net likely deteriorated from being left in harsh conditions. Another customer said that the quality of the padding was extremely poor as it faded quickly and began to fall apart and there were others who agreed it didn’t hold up well. It is likely that the pad had not been replaced in some time, although, I can not be completely sure as nobody mentioned it. Due to wear and tear from springs, most pads should be replaced every year. Finally, there was a review where the customer expressed deep concerns for the safety of the security net after owning it for a couple of months, as one of the support poles for the enclosure broke while her 70 pound child was using the trampoline – yikes!
Everybody that wrote a propel trampoline review had either a really great experience or regretted their buying decision. All in all, it is your decision as a consumer whether or not you think Propel trampolines is the right option for you. It comes at a great price of just $390.00 and could easily fulfill your jumping desires!
